A while back, I wrote about how tough it is to space plan a small room around a grand piano. After crumpling up numerous drafts and tossing them in the recycle bin, a design developed that made everyone happy. It allowed Jill, a piano teacher and avid musician, to have ample room to play and instruct, while providing seating for friends and family to gather and listen. The room - while small in scale - invites you to sit and relax. AFTER (below)
Small natural collectibles of our client's are displayed in a lovely cabinet that
doubles as a storage space for sheet music.
Custom crushed velvet drapes, created with help from Daly's in-house designer Randy Hillam,
add a layer of texture to the muted colors in the room.
Jill and Brent, to say the least, were happy. And their baby grand, while dominating the room in size,
fits just right with everything around it.
