With the temperatures quickly dropping, no amount of coffee or soup seems take the chill off. I can't help but pull on my coat, trek out to gather wood and build a fire midday so the house is warm and cozy when my girls get home. There are plenty of ways to heat a home, but not all of them give it a cozy vibe that welcomes you to relax and hunker down with family and friends. We've included a few of our favorite ideas below...stay warm!
Texture: There's nothing quite like the softness
of faux fur to make a space feel relaxed.
Layer up! Linger a little longer in bed, with layers of blankets and pillows to keep you warm. An extra blanket, like the wool one below, is the perfect addition for those very chilly nights.
A seat by the fire: Informal, portable seating like these knit cushions are
a wonderful way to get close to the warmth of a crackling fire
Gorgeous handmade wool blankets, available in etsy's MexChic shop.
Color: A natural palette can soften everything in a room. The above collection is by Farrow & Ball. (clockwise from top: String, Stony Ground, Chemise, Slipper Satin.)
Lighting: Hang outdoor lights inside to create a warm glow in any space.
And don't forget the candles!
